2020 NEW ZEALAND CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

On behalf of the MNZ Cross Country Commissioner, Chris Smyth, please see below the format for the 2020 New Zealand Cross Country Championship and North & South Island National events.

2020 NEW ZEALAND CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

The following is the format for the 2020 MNZ Cross Country Championship and the North and South Island Nationals

There will be four rounds consisting of three in the North Island and one in the South Island, your best three rounds will count for the NZ Championship.  An MNZ Championship license is required.

Round 1 - Bushriders MCC – Sunday 16th February – Marton

Round 2 – Central Hawkes Bay MCC – Sunday 22nd March – Flemington - POSTPONED TO SUNDAY 10th MAY 2020

Round 3 – Marlborough MCC – Sunday 26th April

Round 4 – Taupo MCC – Saturday 23rd May

CLASSES

NZ Championship Senior 3 hour – entry fee $90

Class 1 201cc & over 2-stroke

Class 2 0-200c 2 stroke

Class 3 301cc & over 4-stroke

Class 4 0-300cc 4-stroke

Class 5 Veterans (35-44yrs)

Class 6 Super Veterans (45yrs & over)

Class 7 Womens

Class 8 NEW CLASS Under 19 development class up to 200cc two-stroke or 250cc 4-stroke (non-championship) run on club license $60 (winner of Class 8 will receive a cost price Yamaha 125 or 250)

Teams Championship (3 riders) no entry fee

 

NZ Championship Junior 1.5 hour – entry fee $60 (non-champ $40)

Class 1 12-16yrs 4-stroke up to 300cc

Class 2 12-16yrs 2-stroke up to 200cc

Class 3 12-16yrs 2-stroke up to 85cc and 4-stroke up to 230cc

Class 4 Junior Ladies (non-championship)

You may only enter one class

Teams Championship (3 riders) no entry fee

Points will be scored as per rule 6.14a

North and South Island rounds will now be held as National events allowing riders to ride on a club license

North Island Nationals consists of four rounds, all four rounds count

Senior entry $70, Junior $50

Round 1 - Bushriders MCC – Sunday 16th February – Marton

Round 2 – Huntly Belray TBC 1st March

Round 3 – Central Hawkes Bay MCC – Sunday 22nd March – Flemington

Round 4 – Taupo MCC – Saturday 23rd May

South Island Nationals consist of

Round 1 – Marlborough MCC TBC – Sunday 26th April – TBC

 

Sign in 8-8.30am for Junior, 10-10.30am for Seniors.

Please familiarise yourself with Chapter 13 of the Manual of Motorcycle Sport

Prize giving will be held in Taupo from 6.30pm on Saturday 23rd May
