April 10th, 2019:
Motorcycling New Zealand is pleased to announce that the appointment of Dan Batchelor as the new Officials Commissioner will take place at the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 19th May.

MNZ wishes to firstly extend a huge thank you to outgoing Officials Commissioner Andrew Presant for his exceptional dedication to this role over the last 4 years. MNZ is reliant on our volunteers and Andrew has gone above and beyond in order to fulfill the often extreme requirements that the position entails. We look forward to continue working with Andrew in other such official roles as his skills and knowledge is invaluable to MNZ and our members.

Dan has a wealth of experience after 13 years as an MNZ Official and more than 8 at the National level across all disciplines. He is an accredited FIM Environmental Steward and understands this is an important aspect of our sport as the country works toward an increasingly "green" movement. Dan has held roles at international FIM Trials and Supercross events and was the series Steward for the 2019 Fox NZ Motocross Championship.

Dan sees the creation of unity through networks rather than a vertical hierarchy as very important as well as the development of an "appropriate culture of officials" with an improved training framework delivered by regional officials.

With approximately 500 MNZ Officials around the country, this is not a small task but we thank Dan for his application and visions and look forward to working with him.

MNZ is also thrilled to announce the re-appointment of Justin Stevenson to the Enduro Commissioner role for a further two-year term. Justin has been doing some great work behind the scenes and we are pleased to be able to see this continue to improve the Enduro discipline. Yamaha New Zealand has got behind the NZ Championship in 2019 which provides a great boost.

Thank you Justin for your continued work as Commissioner and we are so pleased to have you on board!
