MNZ would like to take this opportunity to thank Life Member, Gerald Dyer who after 51 years of service is hanging up his Officials Vests.

Gerald was born in England in 1929 and first came to New Zealand in January 1950.  Gerald joined the Southland Motorcycle Club in 1952 and has remained a member of the club ever since, being made a life member in 1981.  Gerald became a Steward in 1967 and has been a Grade 4 Steward and Clerk of the Course along with a District Steward.

After returning from a visit to the U.K including a trip to the Isle of Man TT Gerald obtained his first competition licence in 1964 and has taken part in most aspects of racing in Southland.

It is people like Gerald who dedicate their time, knowledge and passion to our sport to whom we are truely grateful.
