General Info.

I started racing in 1986 and won my first championship in 1988 after battling with Aaron Slight in the NZ 250 Production class.
My mechanic Denis Shaw and sponsor Murray Carter from Shanton then helped me get to Bathurst where I finished 2nd to Mick Doohan in the 1988 Arai 500km Superbike race.
I went on that year to race the US Endurance series and the Suzuka 8hr with Graeme Crosby.
It was there where I was picked up by a Japanese team and for the ten years that followed I was fortunate enough to travel the world racing full time, riding for various Superbike and Grand Prix teams.
I first rode the NZ built Britten V1000 at Daytona 1992 where the bike stopped with a couple of laps remaining.
We returned in 1994 to win both races while setting the fastest top speed recorded by any motorcycle at Daytona (189 mph or 305km/h)
It was a fitting tribute to win the ‘95 World B.E.A.R.S Series on Britten, 3 weeks before friend John Britten passed away,
During my racing career I have also enjoyed competing in 41 World Superbike races,  20 FIM 500 GP's,  4 Suzuka 8hrs, 1 x I.O.M., 3 x 24hrs World endurance races........
For the past 9 years I’ve appreciated the great of Suzuki NZ and am looking forward to racing this coming season aboard the new GSXR1000K9.
